Bulletin 08: Beliefs About the Benefits of Physical Activity
Bulletin 8 of the 2008 Physical Activity Monitor (PAM) asks Canadians about the strength of their beliefs regarding certain lifelong benefits of physical activity (PA). The majority of Canadians strongly believe that there are benefits to physical activity, namely preventing heart disease, maintaining ability with everyday tasks in old age, and reducing stress. However, only about one quarter of Canadians believe they are doing enough PA to reap these benefits.
