2015 Opportunities for Physical Activity at Schools Study,

The 2015 Opportunities for Physical Activity at School Survey was conducted by the Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute. The survey asked school administrators to rate certain perceived barriers and supports which can potentially affect physical education and physical activity opportunities in the school.

2010-2011 Physical Activity Monitor (Children and Youth focus),

The 2010-2011 Physical Activity Monitor asked parents to indicate the barriers that prevent their child from being more active. Parents reported several key barriers, including time concerns and competing demands, physical and personality characteristics, physical and social environment, and cost. These have been grouped and are summarized in this research bulletin.

2006 Physical Activity Monitor (Workplace),

This section looks at reported barriers to being active and beliefs about the work-related benefits of physical activity such as recruitment and turnover, absenteeism, and workplace injury, by workplace characteristics such as the size and type of workplace, and by employee characteristics, including province, age and sex, household income, education, marital status, community size, activity level, profession, industry, and company size.

Barriers to participation in physical activity are perceived hindrances or impediments that prevent a person from being more active or prevent the existence or expansion of physical activity opportunities. The 2007-08 Opportunities for Physical Activity at Work Survey explores perceptions of barriers that appear in Canadian workplaces, such as those pertaining to the environment, personnel, information, and financial support.
